Academy Award winning actress Octavia Spencer is now picking up recognition for her producing work too.
According to The Wrap, Spencer will receive a Visionary Award from the Producers Guild of America at its ceremony, scheduled for Jan. 18. The Wrap reports the award honors producers in television or film who share inspiring, uplifting stories.

She understands how to harness the power of filmmaking to inspire audiences everywhere with stories that showcase undeniable human truths and emotion,” said PGA Presidents Gail Berman and Lucy Fisher in a statement.
Along with that comment, The Wrap included Spencer’s remarks: “It is an honor to receive the PGA Visionary Award. From the very beginning of my career in entertainment, I have been guided by my dream to create an impact through storytelling.
